Lee Gadsby Basannavar
Chief England Team Correspondent
Where it all began: Lee Gadsby Basannavar, aka Gadsby, the founder of Gadsby’s England. 10 years ago, when Gadsby’s England first broadcast on Los Angeles’ CSRN radio network, his hope was that by becoming an England journalist, he might alleviate some of the suffering of being an England fan. It didn’t work.
From Baku to Belo Horizonte, Gadsby has traveled to over 50 countries to watch England. He is a football journalist, screenwriter, and director, dividing his time between Los Angeles and London. He is, of course, the host of Gadsby’s England.
Senior England Team Correspondent
Nick (known to some as Gadsby Junior) leads several streams of Gadsby’s England media output. He acts as co-host of the GE Podcast, provides match-day content on England games from Wembley Stadium, and contributes written analysis to the GE website. He is both a footballing and media obsessive and has followed England in the flesh since the mid-1990s.
Outside of GE Nick is a business consultant and an academic. He holds a PhD in History from the University of London, specialising in the cultural and social history of Britain. He has even taken a historical lens to the perennial tragicomedy of the England football team.
US Correspondent and Head of Media
Connor is an avid football writer, currently residing in Dorado, Puerto Rico. He has a love of all things England, and closely follows both the national team and Chelsea, in addition to his hometown club, the Colorado Rapids. Connor is in charge of site maintenance as well as his own column, An American Take on England, and also writes editorials frequently.

Our resident wordsmith, Adam is a journalist, content writer and devoted football fan based in Lancashire. He graduated from Newcastle University where he studied philosophy, a subject he says has helped him come to terms with England’s existentially draining tournament performances over the years. When he’s not following England, Adam is a long-suffering season ticket holder at Blackburn Rovers and a hip-hop aficionado, both of which he writes about in his spare time.
